The wonders of gun responsibility

I teach Concealed carry, I usually teach in teams to give the class a good vibe instead of everyone listening to one mans opinion or instruction all day.
I dont do it for money, Lord knows its not a high paying job. By the time I pay for the building, class materials, and the other instructors, it might give me a few dollars for some ammo, but thats about it.
Why do I do it then? Because I love what I do. I love seeing peoples eyes light up with new information.
I feel like I am making a difference.
Then again, sometimes I wonder. The excitement that the student feels at the time, Is it because they are getting closer too their goal?
What is the goal? I suppose the goal is for them to sit through their mandatory 8 hours so they can get their certificate to obtain their CHL.
I thought the goal was KNOWLEDGE, but how much of that 8 hours do they remember?
Every class I tell my students "I hope most of you seek advanced training before you decide to carry"
Then I go on and on explaining why...To the responsible gun owner, this is a no brainer.
But I would estimate 90% or sadly even more that obtain their CHL never get more training.
And they still handle guns unsafely.
During the class, it is drilled and drilled. So by the time they take the test and show that they can safely handle a firearm, well of course they can..
But with no muscle memory, or memory retention, within a few weeks the old habits come back.
And then we have firearms in the hands of LEGAL but unsafe people.
My company as well as many trainers offer advanced course.
Each and every class we make this known, and almost everyone states how much they are looking forward to leveling up, and advancing their training.
So many classes where we offer advanced training, why do we have to work so hard to fill the roster?
Its shameful to be honest.
I see guys and girls at the public ranges all the time, who are muzzling people all over the place, and guess what?
They have their CHL...
They still have no holster, or an improper one. They still fumble all over the place while loading magazines, they still can't operate the slide properly...the can draw their firearm without endangering themselves or others, the list gos on and on
We decided to offer a FREE one day advanced training class on a certain date to our past clients, and we made it very well known.
Guess how many signed up?
